My first series of photoshop tutorials for creating a creature character design from sketch to finish. I’m by no means a pro at this but feel confident enough to teach some beginners a few of the techniques I’ve picked up and use regularly. So my goal here was inspired by a few people. A friend of mine, Mike O’Brian who is an amazing sculpter, Aaron Sims who is an amazing character designer and a well known 3D artist by the name of Wayne Robinson. You should google these guys if you don’t already know who they are. Wayne has a lot of great MudBox videos out there. I will not be using Mudbox on this journey. I want to keep it strictly Photoshop for this one. Aaron has many photoshop character creation videos for sale, find them, buy them, learn them. Mike is a firend of mine since mid teen years and is now working in Hollywood on some of those great films you’ve seen already. His success inspires me to give it my all.
